The eradication of corruption is a systematic effort to prevent, detect, and punish for corrupt actions. Corruption eradication is not only the responsibility of the goverment but also of all levels of sociaty. Active participation from citizen is crucial to create a clean government and environment free from corrupt practices.  I agree, that there is a need to eradicate corruption. Eradicating corruption can increase public trust in the goverment, prevent state losses, and strengthen law enforcement.

The first, when corruption is eradicated, the public will see that the government is serious about carrying out its duties with integrity. This will increase public trust in the government because they feel that their interests are protected and prioritized. High public trust will encourage community participation in development and public policy oversight.

The second, corruption often causes significant financial losses to the state. By eradicating corruption, public funds can be used more effectively and efficiently for infrastructure development, education, and healthcare services. This will improve the overall welfare of society and reduce the economic burden on the state.

The third, strong law enforcement is the foundation of a just and civilized society. By eradicating corruption, the legal system will become more transparent and accountable. This will ensure that the law is enforced impartially and all lawbreakers receive appropriate punishment. Strong law enforcement will also prevent future corruption.

To achieve the goal of eradicating corruption, cooperation between the government, society, and law enforcement agencies is needed. In order to increase public trust in the goverment, reduce finansial losses to the state, and create strong law enforcement. Anti-corruption education should start early and be included in the school curriculum. Additionally, transparency and accountability in government must be enhanced to prevent opportunities for corruption. Active public participation in monitoring public policies is also crucial to ensure that the government acts in the public interest.

The Mental Strength of People In The Past Was Stronger Compared To The Mental Strength of Children Today

The Past Was Stronger Compared
To The Mental Strength of Children Today

Mental is a way of thinking and feeling based on conscience that is reflected in a person's behavior. Dan I agree, that the mentality of people in the past is often considered stronger compared to children today. This can be seen in the way they faced difficulties and life challenges. Because people in the past lived more difficult lives, had stronger life values, and had closer solidarity and togetherness.

First, people in the past lived more difficult lives with limited resources and technology. They often had to really struggle or work hard to meet their daily needs. Example; they had to work hard in the fields and factories to meet their daily needs, and due to technological limitations, they had to walk or use bicycles to go to school or work. So, experiences like this unknowingly make their mentality resilient. They are used to facing difficulties and do not easily give up because they are already trained by the harshness of life.

Second, stronger life values, people in the past were taught to help each other, not be wasteful, and have an unwavering spirit when facing problems. Because they believe that hard work, patience, and perseverance are the most important values for achieving success. Values like these become their guiding principles, making their mindset stronger in facing challenges.

Lastly, their solidarity and togetherness were stronger. The relationships between families and neighbors in the past were usually closer. They help each other and rely on one another when times are tough. Strong social support like this is the source of great mental strength. Unlike now, in daily life it still feels lacking. Example; a teenager might have a thousand (1000) friends on Instagram, but when they face personal issues like academic difficulties or family problems, they might struggle to find even one of their online friends. Who can be talked to directly, exchanging thoughts face to face. The help provided on social media is often limited to comments like "keep it up!" or "you can do it!", which, although well-intentioned, do not compare to the emotional support from direct conversations or physical presence. This can make someone feel increasingly isolated when facing problems, as they feel that no one can understand or help.

So, it is indeed true that the mentality of people from the past often considered stronger compared to children now a days. Because people in the past lived more difficult lives, their life values were stronger, and their solidarity and togetherness were closer. Therefore, to strengthen children's mental challenges with perseverance, in still positive values, and strengthen social relationship in the real world.

The Negative Impacts of Teenage Dating

The Negative Impacts of Teenage Dating

Adolescence is a transitional period between childhood and adulthood, typically occuring between the ages of 10-18. During this time, adolescents experience physical, emotional, and psychological changes. This includes the development of interest in the opposite sex, often manifested as "dating". Dating is defined as the process of knowing and understanding the opposite sex and building closer relationships as preparation for more serious commitment. However, for adolescents, the purpose of dating tends to focus more on status and the pursuit of pleasure. Therefore, I agree that dating during adolescence has negative impacts because adolescents are not emotionally, physique, and socially prepared to face the challenges in a romantic relationship, such as disruption to education, risk of sexual behavior, and loss of adolescent development experiences.

First, adolescents aged 10-18, who are emotionally immature, are not yet ready for a healthy and responsible romantic relationship.  The emotional development of adolescents is still unstable because the prefrontal cortex, the part of the brain responsible for rational decision-making and emotional control, does not fully develop until around the age of 25.  Consequently, adolescents tend to be impulsive and have difficulty considering the long-term consequences of their relationships, which can disrupt their education.  Research by students at National Taiwan University found that adolescents in romantic relationships have lower academic achievement compared to those who are not, due to excessive preoccupation with their partners, leading to difficulty concentrating and stress from their relationships, which impacts academic performance.

Secondly, adolescents are not fully physically prepared for romantic relationships involving sexual aspects. Although reproductive organs begin to develop, they have not yet reached optimal physiological maturity. Unstable hormonal changes make it difficult for adolescents to control sexual impulses.  A World Health Organization article on adolescent pregnancy, published April 10, 2024, highlights the high global rate of teenage pregnancies, with many engaging in sexual activity without understanding the consequences for reproductive health and without adequate protection.  This high risk of sexual behavior is due to a lack of education for adolescents, which can disrupt their education and future prospects.

Finally, adolescents are not socially prepared to balance romantic relationships with other social responsibilities. They tend to neglect broader social development by focusing excessively on their romantic partner. An article from SMK Kosgoro 1 Lawang notes that dating during adolescence can hinder personal development and reduce interaction with friends and family; time that should be used for exploring interests and talents is diverted to dating.  They often neglect schoolwork and reduce participation in extracurricular activities, resulting in a loss of the adolescent experience.

In conclusion, teenage dating carries significant negative consequences due to adolescents' lack of emotional, physical, and social readiness. Therefore, the roles of parents, schools, and media are crucial in guiding adolescents to prioritize self-development, education, and character building to better prepare them for the future.

The Negative Impact of HIV On The Physical Health of Adolescents in Indonesia

The Negative Impact of HIV On The
Physical Health of Adolescents in Indonesia
By : Citra Tamara Tresia
Accepted Date : 23 May 2025

HIV (Human Immunodeficiency virus) is a virus that attacks the human immune system, partyculary CD4 cells, making the body vulnerable to various infections and diseases. Adolescents are individuals aged between 10 and 19 years old, a transitional proid from chilhood to adulthood marked by physical, emotional, and social changes. Physical health in adolescents refers to the optimal condition of the body in perfoming biological and motor functions, as well as being free from diseases that hinder growth and daily activites. I agree that the HIV virus has a signifikan negative impact on adolescents physical health. This can be seen from various symptoms and physical complications experienced by adotescents living with HIV, such as:

  • Dratic Weight Loss
  • Skin Problem
  • Prolonged Fatigue

First, teenagers infested with HIV tend to experience sginifikan weight loss due to a weakened immune system. HIV attacks CD4 cells, which funetion to protect the body from infections making it harder for the body to fight of diseases. This condition leads to metabolic disorders and a decreased appetite, which ultimetly result in substantial weight loss. According to the Wolrd Health Organization (WHO) HIV wasting syndrome is one of the common symptoms of HIV infection, especially if antiretroviral  treatment is not receveid in a timely manner. This weight loss is particulary dangerous for teenagers because it can hinder their physical growht and development, wich naturally occurs during pubery.

Second, skin problem are one of the physical effects often experienced by teenagers with HIV. The weakened immune system caused by HIV makes the body more susceptible to fungal, viral, and bacterial infections that affect the skin. As a result, teenagers living with HIV often experience rashes, wounds that are slow to heal, white patches in the mouth (candidiasis), and recurring skin infections. Based on information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), around 90% of people living with HIV experience skin disorders during the course of their illness. These skin problems not only cause pain or discomfort but also affect teenagers’ self-esteem and can impact their psychological well-being.

Third, prolonged fatigue is another common symptom experienced by adolescents with HIV, even when they are not engaging in strenuous activities. This fatigue is caused by various factors, including opportunistic infections, anemia, metabolic disorders, and side effects of antiretroviral medications. According to AIDSinfo.nih.gov, chronic fatigue in people living with HIV can disrupt daily activities and reduce overall quality of life. For teenagers, this has a serious impact because it can interfere with their learning process, social activities, and emotional development. If not managed properly, this fatigue can worsen both physical and mental conditions simultaneously.

In conclusion, HIV has a severely negative impact on the physical health of teenagers in Indonesia, such as weight loss, skin problems, and even prolonged fatigue experienced by those living with HIV. HIV can spread due to a lack of education among Indonesian youth who are not yet aware of the effects and causes of HIV

Flooding In Several Places In The City of Palangka Raya

Flooding In Several Places In The City of Palangka Raya
By : Cicelia Octavia Ayu Puspaningsih
Accepted Date : 23 May 2025

Flooding is a natural disaster that occure due to heavy rainfall. As a result of heavy rainfall, water cannot be absorbed quickly by the soil. Lately, rainffal in the city of palangkaraya has been high.this rainfall causes the city of palangkaraya to be flood. There ar spots affected by these factors,  such as highway,  houses and shops. The flooding occure due to the folowing factors, namely : careless waste disposal, blockages in the ditches, and lowlands. Therefore,  from these theree factors, it is true that there is flooding in several places in the city of Palangka Raya.

First, carreles waste disposal is the behavior or habit of some one disposing of waste in anapproriate places, such as throwing trash into ditches,  on the roadside, or into rivers,  which can ruin the scenory.

Second, lockages in the ditches is a condition where the ditch cannot channel water properly due to being blocked by trash that is carelessly discarded. This causes unpleasant odors and turns the ditch into a breeding ground for mosquitoes, insect, and other animals that can spread disiase, making anyone passing by feel uncomfortable.

Last, lowlands areas in residential neighborhoods are housing areas located in low-lying terrain, making them prone to flooding. Floods can occure because the ground level is higher than the houses,  which slows down water absorption and causes puddles or significant flooding. Even the existing drainage ditches cannot handle the volume of rainwater, as rainwater accumulating in low-lying areas fills the ditches and slows dow the water flow.

Lately, rainfall in the city of Palangka Raya has been high, which has become a problem. It can disrupt people's activities,  and flooding in palangkaraya frequenty occrus and keep repeating. This is also caused by the high rainfall, especially in lowlands areas,  where the ground level is higher than the houses,  making it difficult for the soil to absorb rainwater quickly. However, flooding is not only caused by low-lying areas but also by human behavior for example : careless waste disposal or habit of some one disposing of waste anopproriate pleaces, blockages in the ditches channel water properly due to being blocked by trash that is carrelesly discarded. Because of being obstructed by garbage, causing the drains to become clogged. Therefore,  we as members of the community must care about our environment by reducing harmful behaviors.this is also for the common good, to reduce obstacles to people's daily activities.

Is The HMPV Virus The Same As Covid-19?

Is The HMPV Virus The Same As Covid-19?
By : Helena Evangelista Octaviani
Accepted Date : 23 May 2025

There is currently a lot of discussion about the HMPV virus which spread in China and has been found in Indonesia. Everyone is scared because the HMPV virus attacks the respiratory system like covid-19, but in reality it doesn't. The human metapneumovirus or HMPV virus is a type of infectious viral infection of the respiratory system whose symptoms are the same as the common cold and most of the patient are children. Most people think the HMPV virus comes from China. In fact, the HMPV virus is an old virus that came from Europe. I disagree, because there are three things that differentiate between HMPV and covid-19. That is symptoms, target of transmission, as well as different prevention and treatment.

The first thing that differentiates the two viruses is the symptoms experienced by patients. HMPV (Human Metapneumovirus) presents common symptoms such as cough, runny nose, mild fever, shortness of breath, and sore throat, with more severe symptoms including pneumonia and bronchiolitis. On the other hand, COVID-19 typically presents with fever, muscle aches, fatigue, and loss of smell and taste as common symptoms, while severe symptoms may include severe pneumonia, acute respiratory distress, and organ failure.

The second difference between the two viruses is their transmission targets. The target population or the group of people most vulnerable to HMPV infection includes infants, children, and the elderly. This is because infants and children have underdeveloped immune systems, while the elderly have weakened immune responses. In contrast, COVID-19 primarily affects individuals with weakened immune systems, those with underlying health conditions, and the elderly, due to reduced immune responses and declining organ function.

The third difference is in prevention and treatment. HMPV can be prevented through handwashing, wearing masks, and practicing proper coughing etiquette. It has no specific treatment and is managed with supportive care only. COVID-19, however, can be prevented with vaccination and good room ventilation, and can also be treated with antivirals such as Paxlovid and Remdesivir.

Currently, there is widespread discussion about the HMPV that is spreading in China and has also been found in Indonesia. It is often mistaken for the COVID-19 virus. Based on the statements and arguments above, there are three things that differentiate between HMPV virus and COVID-19, that is the symptoms experienced by patients, the target of transmission, as well as the prevention and treatment methods. Therefore, to protect ourselves from both viruses, we can maintain hand hygiene, always wear masks in public places, strengthen our immune system, and get vaccinated as a preventive measure to increase personal awareness.

The Negative Impact of Social Inequality in The Implementation of Law for Indonesian Citizens

The Negative Impact of Social Inequality in
The Implementation of Law for Indonesian Citizens

Accepted Date : 23 May 2025

Social inequality is a condition where there is something unbalanced in people’s lives. Social inequality is one of the big problems in Indonesia, especially in the legal sector, even now there are still many people who are trying to speak out to get justice in the law. The absence of balance in law enforcement, unequal access to justice, and reduced public trust in the application of the law are negative impacts of social inequality in the application of the law for indonesian citizens.

First, social inequality often creates inequality in law enforcement, where the law tends to be harsher on the lower class and lighter on the upper class. This can be seen from the many cases where the lower class is more easily caught in the law, while perpetrators from the elite tend to get away with it or get a lighter sentence. for example, data from the judicial commission (2022) shows that defendants from the lower economic class receive more maximum prison sentences than those from the upper class in cases with similar violations. This inequality proves that there is unequal legal treatment for indonesian citizens.

Secondly, social inequality also to justice for underprivileged citizens. Many poor communities lack the financial means to pay for legal services, resulting in inadequate legal representation during judicial procosses. According to a 2021 report by the Jakarta legal Aid institute (LBH), only around 30% of law income individuals were able to obtain legal assistance when facing legal proceedings. This disparity demonstrates that the legal system still tends to favor those with economic resourees, meaning that access to justice is not yet evenly distributed across all layers of indonesian society.

Thirdly, when the law favors only certain groups, the general public will begin to lose trust in a legal system, that is supposed to be fair and impartial. This can be Seen From the results of a 2023 survey by indikator Politik indonesia, which showed that only 47,8% of respondents believed that the law in Indonesia is enforeed fairly. This law level of trust leads to public indifference toward the law. an increase in vigilante actions, and legal instability. When people no longer trust the law, the main purpose of the legal system to protect and ensure justice for all citizens fails to be achieved

Thus, social inequality is indeed one of the big problem that has a negative impact on the implementation of law in Indonesia. Imbalance in the implementation of law, limited access to justice, and reduced public trust in the implementation of law are clear evidence that the law has not been completely fair to all citizens. Therefore, further steps are needed to reduce social inequality in order to create a more equitable legal system that can be trusted by all levels of indonesian society.
